Lichen Ceramic Brush-On Glaze for Cone 6–8 Firing | Textured Grey Pottery Glaze Lichen is a professional-grade ceramic brush-on glaze designed for mid-fire kilns (1240–1280°C / Orton Cone 6–8). This glaze produces distinctive textured surfaces that mimic natural grey lichen formations, with texture intensity controlled by application thickness—thicker coats create dramatic lava-like effects during firing. Ideal for ceramic artists seeking tactile, visually striking finishes, Lichen works on new pieces or as a re-glazing solution to refresh existing pottery. The brush-on application method offers precision and ease, making it suitable for both experienced potters and developing artists. Firing range: Cone 6–8 (1240–1280°C).

This ceramic glaze is ready for brush-on application. Stir thoroughly before use to ensure an even mix with no sediment. Apply 2-3 coats using a brush or sponge for a consistent finish. For varied effects, experiment with different application techniques and coat thicknesses, but be sure to protect your kiln shelves. Please note that results may vary depending on application thickness, firing temperature, and cycle. Testing is recommended.
