Kiln Firing Service

Kiln firing for South London makers.

Drop your work at the Peckham shop and we fire it on a fixed weekly schedule. Bisque and glaze firings, in two electric kilns, bookable as a whole kiln, a single shelf, or a single piece.

How it works

  1. Book and pay here, or in the shop.
  2. Complete the short firing form so we know your clay, your glaze and your firing range: FIRING FORM
  3. Drop your work at the shop. We check it with you and tag it.
  4. Collect when it is ready. We will email you.

What we fire

Bisque at 950°C. Glaze at 1220 to 1230°C with a short soak, around cone 7 to 8. Work made with declared commercial clay and glazes. Work made entirely with GLOST clay and glazes is pre-approved, gets priority, and 15% off the firing price.

What we cannot fire

Homemade or undeclared glazes. Paper clay or clay with heavy organic content. Work that is not bone dry, or with glaze within 4mm of the base. Anything you cannot document.

Custom firings

Need a different temperature, a lustre firing, or your own firing programme? That is a whole-kiln custom firing, by arrangement. Email contact@glost-glaze.com rather than booking here.

Payment confirms your booking. We still check your work at drop-off, and if we cannot fire it we refund you in full.

Shipping

We ship in 2-7 working days with UPS, who has offered the most prompt and reliable service to date. We readily ship international orders but please note GLOST does not cover the TAX for international delivery. 

 

Returns

We do accept returns for unopened items which must be in original condition. Used or tampered products will not be refunded. Return shipping is at the customers cost and risk.
