The BuschKraft Dragonfly Tool with a Delta Tungsten Blade is a pottery trimming tool: a knurled metal Dragonfly handle fitted with a tungsten carbide trimming blade in BuschKraft's original Delta profile. Made in the USA and designed by Nicholai Busch.
The Delta profile is a triangle with three distinct radii that adapt to nearly any curve. It is sized for removing bulk material without feeling unwieldy, and the two upper corners refine smaller details and transitions.
Tungsten carbide keeps its edge far longer than plain steel, cutting cleanly through leather-hard porcelain and stoneware and standing up to heavily grogged clay. The blade is sharpened before it leaves the maker. It does wear in the end, and can be resharpened with a diamond file or rotary bit. It is also brittle: if dropped, the blade can break, so store the tool with care.
