The Glazing Session

From

£65

Spend 1,5h glazing in a working ceramic studio in Peckham, using real small-batch glazes made in-house. Your piece is fired and returned to you — finished. Full listing description The Glazing Session is two hours in the GLOST studio in Peckham, working with ceramic glazes that are formulated, tested, and made here. GLOST was founded by Elena Gileva — an artist and ceramics teacher with nearly twenty years of practice. The studio makes small-batch glazes sold to potters across the UK. When you come in for a glazing session, you’re working with those same materials: not watereddown craft versions, but the real thing.

What you’ll do :
Choose your bisque piece or bring your own, pick your glazes, and time decorating. Some glazes are smooth and predictable. Others bubble, crawl, and shift in the kiln in ways that are genuinely hard to anticipate. You’ll get a sense of what each one does and why — enough to make informed choices, not so much that it becomes a chemistry lesson. The GLOST team are there throughout, but this is your session. You set the pace. After the session Your piece goes into the kiln. High-temperature firing is what turns raw glaze into the finished surface — the colours transform, the textures emerge, and what you applied becomes something else entirely. Collection is arranged after firing, usually within a week.
