SPECKLE stoneware glaze

from £17.00

Brush on glaze

1240 - 1280 C / Orton Cone 5-8

Introducing Speckle, a ceramic brush-on glaze featuring a matte, transparent/milky base with dark speckles. Its transparency varies according to application thickness. Firing temperature influences the appearance of the speckles, with temperatures reaching cone 8 or above potentially shifting the overall colour from neutral to a light ochre tone.

How to Apply

A ready to use glaze for brush on applications. Before use stir well, ensuring mix is evenly distributed and no sediment remains. For even cover apply 2-3 coats with a brush or sponge. For diverse results, experiment with coats and method but ensure your kiln shelves are well protected. Keep in mind that there will be slight variations, please test accordingly. Results are usually affected by thickness of application, temperature and firing cycles.

WARNING!

Do not ingest.

Use gloves when mixing and applying product. Keep away from eyes. If product gets into eyes rinse thoroughly with water. Avoid dust and dry glaze build up from evaporation of solution. Wash with a wet cloth only and do not sweep or dust off. Ensure adequate ventilation during firing.

Clays featured : Sibelco Spotted Throwing, Sibelco Smooth Textured Black, Hand Building Crank, White Throwing Clay and Pizza Clay from Hot Clay and Porcelain fro PotClays.
